Cadbury Dairy Milk has unveiled the follow-up ad campaign to the ‘Gorilla’ and ‘Airport Trucks’ spots with a commercial starring children dancing with their eyebrows.
The 60-second Fallon-created spot, set to an 1980s electro track called “Don’t stop the rock” by Freestyle, opens with two siblings sitting in a traditional photographer’s studio waiting to have their portrait taken.
When the photographer is called away by a ringing phone, the children break into a choreographed eyebrow dance. The ad breaks tonight live during the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ finale on Channel 4.
Chris Willingham, a partner at Fallon said: “Like all good creative ideas nowadays, ‘Eyebrows’ will entertain and spark conversation online and offline. It is designed to encourage involvement and imitation.”
Phil Rumbol, marketing director for Cadbury, said: “‘Eyebrows’ marks our third original production following ‘Gorilla’ and ‘Airport Truck’ and we’re confident it will prove just as popular and raise as many smiles — but lots more eyebrows.
“Like the other productions, ‘Eyebrows’ is all about losing yourself and embracing that moment of joy — except in this case there’s a healthy dose of mischief mixed in too.”
The confectionary giant said the ad will be supported by a number of activities throughout February and it is also offering consumers the chance to buy branded coffee mugs for £7.99.
Visitors to www.photobox.co.uk will be able to upload a photo of themselves or a friend and add some comedy eyebrows.

Online Advertising Industry – Predictions for 2009
Video ad spending will run counter to overall economic developments, rising by 45% in 2009 to reach $850 million. Two key factors support this trend. First, the sharp escalation of professional video content on the Web—mainly from TV networks—is creating a viable base for brand marketers.Second, even though most advertisers are increasingly cautious with their budgets, they still need to reach online audiences and woo their shrinking wallets with messages that reach their hearts and minds—hence, more video.Search marketing spending will grow by 14.9% in 2009, to $12.3 billion. Search marketing is not recession-proof, but it is recession-resistant. Two basic assumptions support this eMarketer projection. Search is highly measurable, so it will maintain its place in many budgets and increase in some others, as advertisers look for secure and effective methods to combat fear in an economic meltdown. Also, consumers—who monetize search ads by deciding whether or not to click—will take money off the table by shopping less, and put money back on by searching for deals. Although search advertising will grow less in 2009 than in any previous year, its inherent strength will mean greater spending gains than for any other major form of advertising, whether online or offline.Total US Internet ad spending will increase to $25.7 billion in 2009, an 8.9% growth rate. That will be the lowest year-over-year increase for online advertising ever. Yet it will still be a robust increase compared with nearly all other media. Get the full story at eMarketer.com

Tequila is tipped to win the integrated pan-European advertising account for Domestic & General, the UK’s largest provider of warranties for domestic appliances. The agency pitched against a number of undisclosed agencies and it is not known if there was an incumbent. The AAR oversaw the review.
It is understood the appointment comes ahead of aggressive expansion plans by
Domestic & General, which is looking to move into new markets. The company is already in some European markets and operates in Australia. Tequila is expected to focus on marketing activity in France, Italy, Germany and Poland. In August, the company appointed Jonathan Grisdale as its dedicated international managing director with responsibility for leading its international team and developing its global business.Domestic & General provides breakdown plans for over 100 appliance brands, over 2,000 independent high street retailers, banks and catalogue companies, and also operates a consumer service. Last year, it processed over 1.5 million claims. The company has been operating for over 50 years and started out providing warranties for black and white televisions. It now caters for almost every household appliance, including washing machines, widescreen TVs and PCs.
